A three-pose sheet: arms crossed with 'You are dating a Weasley?', a pout of 'My father will hear about this', and a faded sketch of her on a chair. The father line comes straight from Draco in the films.
malfoid
Draco Malfoy, but a girl. Fans invented Malfoid on X in September 2026 and haven't stopped drawing her since.
Malfoy + foid
“Foid” is short for “femoid”, an insult for women that comes from incel forums. Most people posting Malfoid use it as a pun on the surname and nothing more.
Plenty of fans won't say it and call her “fem Draco” or “female Malfoy” instead. Both camps are big, and Malfoid is argued about daily on Reddit, Bluesky and AO3.

Yunayu's take: a grinning Malfoid with a small fang, round glasses and faint freckles, posted on X on October 6, days after the artist was harassed on Bluesky over the trend.
Malfoid and the golden trio. Ron, Harry and Hermione stand with arms folded while she gloats that she warned Potter about his friends, then offers to stay friends if he asks nicely. Rivalry first, crush second.
Malfoid and the golden trio
'Potter?' Two moods in one image: on top she points her wand with total confidence, below she sits at a desk looking lost. The caption is one word, and that word is the joke.
Potter? #malfoid
A one-page comic: she grabs Harry by the tie and yells 'Stupid Potter', the argument gets closer and closer, and it ends in a kiss and a quiet hug a few moments later. Enemies to lovers in six panels.
Stupid Potter.. 💚 #malfoy #malfoid
The 2024 precedent, captioned 'If malfoy was a girl'. One panel shows her lounging with a smug look, the other flustered and blushing. It went viral two years before anyone called her Malfoid.
If malfoy was a girl
The joke has three parts, and every Malfoid drawing hits at least two of them. She is Draco, but a girl: same platinum hair, same green tie, same rich-kid sneer. She mocks Harry, usually with a line that sounds like the films, “Potter” stretched out into “Pottah”. Then she blushes. That last beat turns a school bully into a rival with a crush, and fans have been shipping Harry and Draco for twenty years, so the setup was already familiar.
It also follows a pattern the internet has seen before. In 2018 Bowsette, a female Bowser, took over the same way: one popular drawing, then thousands of artists redrawing it within a week. Malfoid is the 2026 version, and the comparison was made almost immediately.
How Malfoid Took Over the Internet (and Fixed Harry Potter) YouTube
The first big Malfoid post went up on September 22 at 14:03 UTC, from artist @redteneri[1]. It now has well over 100,000 likes. On September 27 a love-triangle drawing with Hermione followed, and on September 29 a three-pose sheet by @masoq095 passed 100,000 likes and Malfoid hit X’s trending list. By October 1 the first fan dating sim was out. The full Malfoid timeline has every step with its source.
Artists change a lot, but a few things stay fixed: long blonde hair, hoop earrings, the Slytherin tie and an expression that is either a smirk or a pout. We counted the twenty most-liked drawings: all twenty have the long blonde hair, seventeen show the green tie, and half of them put Harry in the frame so she has someone to insult. Her name is not settled either. Some fans call her Draconia, some Dracona, and the fan games picked their own. The Malfoid character profile covers all of it.
If you only want the pictures, the Malfoid fan art gallery keeps every major post in one place, ranked by likes and credited to the artist, with a line on what each drawing is doing. If the name is what confused you, what Malfoid means breaks it down word by word, and the Malfoid controversy covers the part that got an artist harassed off Bluesky.
Two groups of fans went looking for more than art. The first wanted to play, and two free Malfoid visual novels, Pureblood & Prejudice and Draconia, appeared on itch.io within ten days. Both are free and run in a phone browser. The second wanted stories, and Malfoid fanfiction lists where to find them on AO3, Wattpad and FanFiction.net, general and teen ratings only. AO3 alone has about 650 works under the tag Female Draco Malfoy, and its tag wranglers folded the Malfoid tag into that one, so searching either word lands on the same list.
If you came here from a Draco search and have never heard of any of this, start with female Draco Malfoy. Girl versions of Draco were around for years before anyone called her Malfoid, and that page explains how a long-running fan habit turned into a two-week meme.
Within two weeks she was in every format the internet had lying around.
Part one of Sachi_Hwa's robe-shop comic. Harry meets a very pretty, very chatty Slytherin girl at Madam Malkin's who asks about brooms and Quidditch. He has no idea who she is yet.
This was probably their actual first meeting.. (1/2) #malfoid #malfoy
Party game panel: Harry reads out 'Kiss the person on your left' next to Ginny. Cut to Malfoid a few seats away, glaring. Nobody says a word, and her face says everything.
"Kiss the person on your left." #Malfoid
'Basically canon.' Four panels of her listing what she hates about Potter, his ugly glasses and his infuriating smile, until she is blushing into her hands: 'I can't stand him.'

A short animated loop titled POTTTAH, after the stretched-out way she says his name. It turned the most quoted word of the trend into a face you can hear.

Malfoid is the fan nickname for a girl version of Draco Malfoy: platinum hair, Slytherin robes and a habit of mocking Harry. The art went viral on X in late September 2026.
No. Malfoid only exists in fan art, comics and fan games. J.K. Rowling's books and the films only have Draco.
The name joins Malfoy with “foid”, incel slang for women. Many fans prefer “fem Draco” because of that.
Girl versions of Draco go back to at least 2011. The Malfoid wave started with @redteneri's drawing on September 22, 2026.
A rival who insults Harry and then blushes is an easy joke to redraw, and hundreds of artists did, one after another, in under two weeks.
Yes. Pureblood & Prejudice and Draconia are free fan visual novels that run in a phone or desktop browser.
No page matches that. Try “fan art” or “meaning”.
